Editing levels

BASIC

Basic Editing “an error-free text”

Basic editing is for authors with near-native English. English grammar and spelling will be checked and corrected where necessary, but the text will not be rearranged or rewritten. Editing will specifically address the following issues:

* Spelling (UK or US), punctuation, capitalization, and use of italics

* Grammar issues, including word order, run-on sentences, comma splices, fragments, agreement of tenses, etc.

* Appropiate use of words, ambiguities and weaknesses in communication (indicated only)

PRICING

INTERMEDIATE

Intermediate Editing “a clear message”

Intermediate editing is for authors with a good command of English who may struggle to produce a manuscript of acceptable quality. Intermediate editing extends the editing process to include:

* Natural structure and clarity of sentences

* Stylistic weaknesses such as awkward constructions, inflated sentences, etc.

* Redundancy, repetition and ambiguous statements

* Comments on the overall clarity and logic of your presentation

PRICING

ADVANCED

Advanced Editing “conveying ideas”

Advanced editing is about communicating the message in your data. The style and flow of your writing can work for your message or against it.

* We will help you to communicate clearly and succinctly

* The title should grab attention and the abstract should clearly convey your central message and most important findings

* In addition, special attention will be paid to the overall layout and structure of your document

Testimonials

“Al sinds vele jaren heb ik zeer positieve ervaringen met de redactionele bewerking van mijn Engelse teksten voor publicatie in internationale tijdschriften. Het is verbazingwekkend hoe goed de redacteur JP zich inhoudelijk inleest in de context van het manuscript. Afspraken over tijdstippen van terugzending worden nauwkeurig nagekomen. Zeer tevreden over de samenwerking met ‘MedicalEditing.nl’ in de voorbereiding van manuscripten tot internationale publicaties.”

Professor (emeritus) Rob A.B. Oostendorp, Scientific Institute for Quality of Healthcare, Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre, Nijmegen, The Netherlands

Your editor: Dr J-P Bayley

Following a bachelors in Biochemistry and a studentship at the Netherlands Cancer Institute, I carried out doctoral research in molecular immunology and genetics (Department of Rheumatology, Leiden University Medical Center). In 2002 I joined the lab of Prof. Peter Devilee (Human Genetics, LUMC) and have since focused on clinical genetics, SDHD tumor inheritance, as well as animal and cell models of paraganglioma. In 2005 I established the LOVD SDH Variant Databases for SDHA, B, C, D, SDHAF2 and FH, which presaged my current research focus on understanding genotype-phenotype correlations of SDH genes in paraganglioma-pheochromocytoma. I am currently running the 2025-6 phase of the International SDH Genotype-Phenotype collaboration.
